Club Upcoming Highlights
Wednesday 9/21/22– Kristina Johnson – Hudson’s Director of Planning & Community Development. She has over 15 years of experience in community planning and is also the Chair of the Framingham Planning Board. Kristina is also the President of the Massachusetts Association of Planning Directors. She will talk to the club about contemporary issues she’s assisting with in the Town of Hudson. She also invited Tom Gregory, our town Administrator, to join us that night as well. Plenty to talk about!
Wednesday 9/28/22 – Andy Dowd – Andy is a Northborough Rotarian and during the day he’s the long time Northborough Town Clerk. He’s also President of the Town Clerk’s Association of Massachusetts. His talk will be on the unique history of vital record keeping in New England and the sacred duty of keeping our elections secure. He has also invited Joan Wordell, our Town Clerk in Hudson, to join us. I’ve known Andy for over ten years and he’s a class act.
Wednesday 10/5/22 – Stephen Burney – owner of Hudson Hives. He will talk to us about the “The Fascinating World of Bees” – If you’ve never heard a professional beekeeper explain what happens when bees work their magic you’re in for a treat. It’s really quite interesting. Steve is a lifelong resident of Hudson and you can find his delicious jars of honey all over the place including Mullahy’s Cheese Shop downtown or Nan’s Market in Stow.
Wednesday 10/12/22 – Malcolm Purinton PhD – Dr. Purinton is an accomplished professor of world history at Northeastern University, however his true passion is lecturing on “The History of Beer”. In his spare time he writes a column for the Yankee Brewer newspaper. Everything you’d ever want to know about the sociocultural relationships of world empires, global trade, and the technology of beer brewing can be answered by Malcolm when he speaks at Hudson Rotary.
